Frequently asked questions about my design options and design process.
Since reading between the lines is key to my way of working, personally meeting you at your house provides me additional information that is essential to the design. Think of the natural lighting, the general atmosphere, your family’s daily frustrations but also the potential of your home.
At the same time it has become very clear to all since 2020 that collaborating online is more than possible. So for smaller interior projects it will be doable! Generally speaking you will have to provide me with some more details of your house, such as photo’s and the exact dimensions of a room. This in combination of the questionnaire I will ask you to fill in and the online meetings should provide sufficient information to realize you a custom design. Since I exclusively work in 3D you will receive a clear impression of your future home.
I agree, you know you best and of course (re)designing your house by yourself might save you some money.
To decide how much this investment is worth to you, you should honestly admit how much it already has cost you. How much stress about taking decisions has delayed your process so far? Is finding compromises with your family members making it difficult to proceed? Do you manage to oversee the entire, somewhat overwhelming, project? How much time, bad bargains, energy and tranquillity have you already invested in your house without the envisioned result?
By being the designer at your side I’ll focus on what is truly important to you and create you a custom design, tailored around your lifestyle.
As said, you may save time and money with a custom design. Focused shopping according to a cohesive and functional plan instead of trying month after month to find items that hopefully will match with what you’ve already previously bought. The design will consider materials and items in line with your budget.
Repurposing furniture or customizing them is something I love to consider as a sustainable designer. Spreading the implementation of the project might be another possibility. Together we’ll decide what solution will fit you most.
Best advantage of a custom design is the overall cohesion and the fact that it’s tailored to your needs.
Designing multiple rooms or the entire house all at once is a smart move to make. There will be more cohesion between the different floors, harmony between the rooms and a total sense of organization and flow through the whole house.
Since I don’t have to get to know you all over again for every room, the price for a total floor or house renovation takes this in consideration. Please feel free to contact me for discussing the possibilities!
Definitely! Incorporating (some of) your current furniture pieces will be a sustainable choice. By repurposing or restoring the furniture it will be treasured for many years to come and the combination with new custom designed items will add character to your new interior.
The duration of our collaboration depends first of all of the complexity of the project. On average this might take 4 to 6 weeks for a standard room (bedroom). Redesigning an entire floor might take 12 weeks.
It goes without saying that a project is only finished when you’re satisfied.
This might happen, but honestly I never experienced this situation. Designing for me means creating you a custom design. I take the time to know you and your family, so I can create you a design, tailored around your lifestyle and needs.
Our collaboration is successful to me only when you’re satisfied about the design.
Absolutely! That is in fact a great gift for new house owners, expanding families, mother’s day, Christmas and many other occasions. Please get in touch for discussing the possibilities about a personalized giftcard!
